An alienating job that is born from a passion; and a passion that turns into an addiction within a 5000 km long non-place where a weird nomad tribe lives: the truck drivers. They connect the East to the West, passing through 7 European countries, from Kiev to Lisbon. Ukraine, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal are the countries forming the Corridor 5. Lonely men and women following a handed passion; they carry every kind of needs for our globalized society while living inside enormous moving machines. Life paths that skim one another along the roads or in parking areas. Streams of consciousness reflect themselves into the landscape during the never-ending hypnotic travel hours: the self and the other, the distance from home, the feeling of extraneousness and the sense of loneliness. The truck drivers’ extreme choice of life reveals the intrinsic contradictions of our consumption society since they constitute its fundamental distributive axis.
